Truck drivers Xu Yuan and Zhou Yan rescue injured golden python Ajin on a stormy night. Months later, Ajin grows giant, refuses food and coils tightly around Xu Yuan nonstop. Xu Yuan stumbles upon their plot: Zhou Yan and his lover Lin Xiaojiu plan to let Ajin devour her for a five-million insurance payout. When they confront each other in the no-man’s-land, the starving python turns on them and kills both. Zhou Yan’s brother Zhou Chengming kidnaps Xu Yuan to Zhou Village, where she learns the brothers have used the fake snake deity myth for eight years, unleashing Ajin to rob and murder fellow truckers. With help from Zhou Xiaoman and Zhou’s mother, Xu Yuan teams up with truck companions and police to arrest Zhou Chengming and regain her freedom.
