Eileen discovers that her researcher boyfriend Viktor is secretly imprisoning two undifferentiated merfolk and drugging them for his fantasies. She secretly heals Lyris and Brine, helps them escape, and dumps Viktor. When the newly male merfolk return and bond to her for life, their unconventional home becomes a refuge—until Viktor abducts them for illegal experiments. Eileen reveals her powerful family background, rescues them from Abyssal Island, and chooses the two merfolk who chose her.
