After one night with Prince Winston of Moonrise, commoner orphan Talassa raises their daughter Lilith alone in the slums for five years. When a fever reveals the royal thunderbird mark on Lilith, the palace comes searching for its kin. Reunited at the castle, Talassa and Winston weather Berta's schemes, class barriers, and misunderstandings—and finally cross it all to find their perfect love.
