Aino, guardian of the Spirit Realm, crosses through a rift in the realm‑gate and arrives in Helsinki in 1935. Her soul is damaged, leaving her with narcolepsy. Only the golden light of merit emanating from her fiancé Juhani can restore her spirit body. After moving into the Koskinen Manor, she faces ferocious jealousy and a string of schemes plotted by Lina, his adopted daughter. With the power of her slumber‑induced spirit vision and rune magic, Aino and Juhani piece together clues to uncover the truth. At last, they discover their bond spans two lifetimes‑‑the one who has always protected each other is none other than the very same soul.
