Linus, heir to the Black‑Forest divine‑healer lineage, disguises himself as a groom to sneak into the Valmont Royal Palace in order to escape a blood‑oath‑bound engagement left by his master. Yet he is arranged to marry Princess Janice, who is shunned by the royal family and said to be dying. He finds out her poor health is not inborn: she has been slowly poisoned by the Queen and the Temple for years, and her royal mark as well as inheritance rights were seized. While detoxifying her and keeping her alive, Linus fights against the plots of the royal house and the Temple with his peerless medical skills. Finally, he uncovers the truth that the Temple chases immortality at the cost of people’s lives, reverses the forbidden array and saves the whole city.
