Xu Ming trades his late father’s medical scriptures to save his lame old dog Yuanbao, only to be driven out by his second uncle. Yuanbao turns out to be a spiritual spirit beast that leads him to the Ten-Thousand Snake Valley to dig up the rare Nine-Leaf Spirit Ginseng. Greedily seizing the ginseng, the second uncle triggers its transformation into a venomous centipede. His reckless exploitation collapses the spiritual field, ruining his family completely. Before passing away, Yuanbao entrusts Xu Ming with guarding the mountain and growing divine herbs. Choosing to heal the world with kindness, Xu Ming finally uncovers the fated karmic bond between his family and the spiritual hound.
