Wood elf Karen drunkenly spends a night with Sun Temple Lord Ethilgard, but her friend Anora exploits a mix-up to impersonate her and seize power. Karen wins the lord's heart on her own merits despite Anora's schemes. When the truth surfaces, Anora is punished, and the two are finally united.
