The county’s most notorious “wicked woman” is hastily married off to a widowed lord on the northern frontier. At the wedding, the groom never appears—she exchanges vows with nothing but a cold suit of armor standing in his place. She only marries for the title, the power, and the freedom to rule the keep as its lady. But when she meets her two quiet, motherless stepdaughters, she sees the cruel neglect they’ve suffered . And the “wicked woman” everyone fears decides to make someone else pay.
