Jiang Jiao is forced by her adoptive parents to marry in her younger sister’s stead. Her groom, Li Jingxuan, is said to be a vegetative patient, and the marriage is arranged for a hefty betrothal gift. On the eve of the wedding, her adoptive father tries to sell her secretly for profit, but the buyer never shows up. Meanwhile, Li Jingxuan is poisoned by his stepmother and stepbrother. He swaps the toxin for a fake-death drug to save himself. Side effects make him enter the wrong room, where he spends an unexpected night with Jiang Jiao. After regaining consciousness, Li Jingxuan searches relentlessly for this unknown woman, determined to take responsibility.
