A Better Jianghu
In the Southern Song Dynasty, Qin Hui dominates the imperial court, commanding his elite agents to crack down on the anti-Jin volunteer forces. Months earlier, a Jin diplomatic delegation of forty-one perished at Qilipu; rumors in the martial world claim the killer is the sole surviving civil official, Shen Fang. Elite agents such as Second Commander Yuan Hanting and the Hardworking Fourth Sir are ordered to apprehend the culprit, while the disappearance of 280,000 taels of silver linked to the incident draws numerous martial artists to the scene. Yet, when various factions converge at the relay station, not a single person manages to capture Shen. Instead, a succession of experts meet violent deaths. Shen tearfully protests his innocence, insisting he lacks the strength to even truss a chicken and that the killings must be the work of a young swordsman. As suspicion and infighting erupt, it dawns upon them that the entire ordeal is a trap. This film is adapted from Xiao Duan's wuxia novel "Cup of Snow: Night Rain Strikes Golden Lotus (Bei Xue: Ye Yu Da Jin He)."
