A Taoist predicts that one Song twin is blessed. After brother Song Anan's birth, crops fail; after Song Tianci's, rain falls. The family pampers Tianci and abandons five-year-old Anan. Widow Zhou Yanfang adopts him and prospers—until the village well dries, and villagers blame Anan's bad luck.
