After nuclear war turns the world into a barren wasteland, Katia fights to find food for her family. But her husband, John, steals their last remaining supplies to support his mistress, leaving his own daughter to die. Heartbroken, Katia leaves everything behind. Saved by a mysterious stranger, she gradually falls in love with him—believing he's nothing more than a refugee.
