Daphne's fiancé, driven by a desperate need to save his ex-lover Kitty from a vampire king, betrayed her by marrying Kitty and using a forbidden ritual. In a tragic twist, he offered Daphne as a sacrifice to repay the Hanbo family's debt. Daphne died on the altar, only to be reborn as a vampire's eternal companion.
